Description
Tarashay (تراشے) brings together selections that caught the attention of Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani during his reading across religious and general subjects. The collection includes interesting incidents, scholarly and literary anecdotes, and informative points that he preserved for later reference.
In the introductory note, the author explains how he developed the habit of recording noteworthy material in a notebook. Some of these selections subsequently appeared in the periodical Al-Balagh under the title Tarashay.
The book offers readers a variety of topics rather than a continuous discussion of a single subject. Its appeal lies in the individual selections: an interesting incident, an engaging literary anecdote, or a point of information worth remembering.
Written in Urdu, Tarashay is suited to readers who enjoy collected observations, literary miscellanies, and the discoveries that emerge from wide reading.
